Use Eye Tracking Studies
We design a page with the end in mind, that is, we want our visitors to behave in a certain way, and to travel through our site to a particular desitination, usually a sales or contact page.
But, what we want them to do and how poeple actually behave can be two different things.
Eye tracking studies give use exact behavior patterns of which parts of a page your visitors scan and which they avoid. This is crucial for every site, but even more so for a landing page or lead generation site as you only have one shot at grabbing the visitor.
Eye tracking information is different to say, Google's Content Overlay report. An overlay report tells you which of you links your visitor uses, but not how the scan you site.
New research has become available and it's simple enought to understand so that you can begin to make adjustments to your site today. Have a look at the latest reports and findings here.
Enjoy!
